Ioan Ungureanu

Communication Product Developer – Pastel

With over 12 years of experience in journalism, content creation, and advertising, Ioan has developed a dynamic communication career. Starting as a reporter for Romania’s largest national newspaper, he covered a wide range of topics, including political marketing and tabloid journalism, before transitioning into digital marketing and advertising. For over seven years, he has been a copywriter at pastel, crafting impactful campaigns for a diverse range of brands.

Currently, as a Communication Product Developer at pastel, he drives innovation by blending creativity and technology, creating communication products that meet the fast-evolving demands of the industry. Among his notable projects is Efectiv Podcast, which explores how communication can lead to societal change through expert interviews and debates.

His academic background in journalism, paired with a master’s degree, provided Ioan with essential skills in storytelling, emotional intelligence, and human connection. In 2022, his curiosity about the human mind led him to pursue a second degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Bucharest, where he delves into the interdisciplinary aspects of cognition and artificial intelligence.

As a member of the AI Task Force at the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA), representing both pastel and UAPR, Ioan evaluates AI as both a technological tool and an extension of human cognition, focusing on its ethical implications and potential to enhance human creativity.

He also founded DadsAround, a science-based initiative designed to help fathers build stronger relationships with their children and themselves, fostering a modern narrative of fatherhood through workshops and support groups.
