Andy Pierce

Andy leads the Strategy Practice in Core, Irelands largest marketing and communications agency.​

He heads up the agency’s efforts in Marketing Effectiveness, and has co-created the agency’s Advertising Effectiveness training program. He also leads Core’s Effies program, which has seen the agency top the Irish rankings since the Effies launched in Ireland; picking up 15 gongs in the last two years.​

Andy has almost 20 years agency experience, working across Creative, Media, Research, and Strategy. Prior to that he held roles in Research, Media buying and planning, and Client Service.​

He has worked as the strategic lead for a wide range of businesses including AIB, Three, Diageo, Heineken, Aldi, and the Irish National Lottery. In is role as a strategic consultant he has lead the development of long term marketing and comms strategies for the likes of the IDA, The Green Party, and Ireland’s National Broadband Plan. ​

He is passionate about effectiveness; that marketing grows brands and grows business, but believes the onus is on us as practitioners to deliver proof to an increasingly sceptical audience.​

He is a former Secretary of the Marketing Society of Ireland. Owing to age, and a distinct lack of any ability what-so-ever, he has finally given up replacing Johnny Sexton at 10 for Ireland.​
